Annie Beatrice Chinn (née Hurst), age 89, peacefully transitioned on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Evergreen in Southfield. Born on March 21, 1937, to Cleveland Hurst and Holly Pettis, Annie was a strong, kind, and knowledgeable woman who lived a vibrant life, notably enjoying numerous cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean with her devoted daughter, Clarinda. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Chinn, in 1997 and her daughter in 1983, and is survived by her daughter, Clarinda Carter, and her son-in-law. A woman of simple elegance and deep faith, Annie’s homegoing service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Abundant Life Church (located within Peace Lutheran Church, 17029 W. 13 Mile Rd, Southfield), with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Benjamin Stanley Baker. She will be laid to rest at Detroit Memorial Park West in Redford, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and a sociable spirit that met no strangers.
