Obituary

Debra Lenise Stallworth, 67, of Detroit, passed away at her home on October 21, 2026. She was born May 10, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Johnnie Mae (Lane) and Tommie Walton Jr., and lived in Detroit for most of her life. She attended Bunch Elementary, Miller Middle School and King High School, then earned her certificate from Ross Medical School. She went on to work as a medical secretary, including at DMC Children’s Hospital and a clinic on Gratiot.

Fishing was Debra’s great love. She fished Lake Erie, the waters of Ontario and many places in between, and she kept at it through the winter on the ice. She loved Motown and old-school music, filled her life with plants and flowers, and was known as the best cook in the family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kayla Stallworth, Jeff Johnson and Anthony Walton; four grandchildren; her sister, Tonya Walton; her brothers, Gregory and Kelvin Walton; and a host of relatives and friends. In keeping with her wishes, the family will gather for a memorial dinner, with the date to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Funeral Home, Detroit.
