Francine Jean Pierce, age 76, of Lathrup Village, Michigan, passed away on June 18, 2026.

Born in Detroit on March 3, 1950, Francine was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Pierce and the late Julia (Thompson) Pierce.

A devoted social worker for the State of Michigan, Francine dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, kindness, and unwavering generosity. She was a woman of deep faith and was an active member of St. Cecilia Church in Detroit. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, crocheting, and creating beautiful handmade dolls that reflected her creativity and love for others.

Though she was never married and had no children of her own, Francine's nurturing spirit extended beyond traditional family roles. She was a caregiver to her mother, aunts Barbara Ann and Melinda, through several years of illnesses. She opened her door to family who dealt with a variety of issues, never expecting anything in return. She lovingly raised her cousin, Barbara Marie, providing guidance, support, and unconditional love throughout her life.

Francine leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Kevin (Carol) Pierce; her niece, Tai Calloway; her nephew, Ian Pierce; the cousin she raised, Barbara Thompson; her uncles, Joseph Thompson and Donald Thompson; her aunts, Clairece Thompson and Jaquelen (Charles) Eirschele; her great-aunt, Peggy Terry; along with many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Francine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Pierce and Julia (Thompson) Pierce.

A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Church, 20800 Grand River Avenue, Detroit, preceded by a private family hour. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the compassionate care of Thompson Funeral Home.
